The phenomenon of sport and economic development are closely related. As sport
signifies people’s pursuit of high-quality lifestyle, it has prompted the budding
sporting goods industry. With recognizable brands and an image of quality, Taiwan’s
sporting goods industry is renowned for producing high-end outdoor gear, golf and
fitness equipment, and it has thus drawn more and more consumers abroad to carry
Taiwan’s sporting goods.
Taiwan Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (TSMA), established 43 years
ago, upholds its service-oriented approach to promote exercise across all cohorts of
population and endorses the eminent “Made in Taiwan” brand. TSMA also actively
organizes trade missions to participate in international trade fairs helping domestic
producers to make inroads into overseas markets. TSMA’s numerous accomplishments
in these areas have helped drive the booming growth of our sporting goods industry,
and it definitely deserves accolades.
Throughout last year (2014), the gradual recovering US economy and the
strengthening of the greenback have led to expanding and accelerating business
cycle. The US has regainclaimed its trolle ofas the driver for global economic recovery.
But this year (2015), apart from the lackadaisicalluster growth and clear discrepancies
