1. Introduction:

Based on information published by the European Union authorities*), the trade between Taiwan

and the EU has increased more than eightfold over the past two decades. Taiwan is ranking No.4

in 2015 in its significance as trade partner for the European Union, which shows an impressive

growth compared to 2011, where Taiwan had been the EU’s seventh largest trading partner in

Asia. The exports of Taiwanese products to Europe do by far exceed the quantities of imported

products from Europe.

Taiwanese exhibitors at the world’s leading sporting goods trade fair ISPO are key to the success

of the Munich trade show, not to mention (once again) the fact that the TSMA has been a co-

founding member of the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) in the late

70s. TSMA has since then been a driving engine and fostering spirit for numerous important and

innovative projects at WFSGI level, such as the Manufacturers’ Forum with its latest edition held in

December 2015 in Hong Kong.

The current environment in the consumer products’ world is rapidly changing. Actually,

its changes are happening with supersonic speed and those, who will not very swiftly and

continuously adapt to such environment, will be left behind as fast as it has never happened
