Dear Readers,
Dear TSMA members,
Looking forward to 2016, we expect continuing opportunities for the global Sporting Goods Industry. Our
industry encompasses all regions of the world, thus reflecting the challenges of operating in a global context.
Asia continues to emerge as a key region for rising sporting goods sales and remains the hub of sports goods
manufacturing. Within manufacturing, the challenges of optimising labour costs and productivity will become
more of a focus in order to gain longer term competitiveness. The signing of the Trans Pacific Partnership in
October of 2015 will result in alteration of existing supply chains to gain preferred duty status.
These and other topics mean that TSMA and the regional federations are working to ensure they can support
their members with information on upcoming trends and changes.
To echo this, WFSGI opened its first regional office in 2015, based in Hong Kong. The strategy is to get closer to
the changes as they happen in the Asian regions, to share this with our members around the globe and to be
able to disseminate news of global issues through our network of Federation and members.
The initial focus is to support current and new Manufacturing members with more tailored services to reflect
their needs, explore options to tackle current and upcoming challenges and to disseminate information from
other regions.
TSMA is a long term, valued member of WFSGI and we look forward to closer collaboration through the Hong
Kong office.
