year. Taiwan will vigorously lobby for support for Taiwanese memberships of both TPP and RCEP,

in order to merge into the economic integration achieving a Free Trade Area of the Asia Pacific.

As for bilateral economic and trade agreements, the Government stands pat in the principle of

“establishing multiple contacts, then negotiating and signing agreements one by one.” Besides

signing the Cross-strait Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) and maintaining

flowing economic and trade relations with mainland China, Taiwan has also signed bilateral

economic cooperation agreements (ECAs) with New Zealand (the ANZTEC) and Singapore (the

ASTEP). Both went into effect in 2013 and 2014 respectively. We will continue to embark on new

ECA initiatives with major trading partners to progressively create favorable conditions for joining

the TPP and RCEP to level the ground for our businesses to compete in the international market

and expand our export capacity.

The TSMA’s annual Sporting Goods Yearbook provides an ideal pathway for businesses here

and abroad to gain an insight into Taiwan’s sporting goods and their distribution channels. As it

features well-known brands, one may call it the Book of the sporting goods sector. It will certainly

spawn more trade opportunities and help Taiwan’s sporting goods foray into all corner around

the globe.
