Taiwan Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (TSMA), established in 1972 by 16 Taiwanese
sports racket manufacturers, mainly acts as a bridge between the local sports industry and the
government.
TSMA major tasks include: to participate in international sports shows with the members and
Taiwanese government’s resource, to provide sports trade news or market trends on TSMA’s official
website, to assist publicizing sports-related regulations no matter home or abroad , to release
annual export value of Taiwan’s various sports products, to publicize government policies and
resources on intellectual property and trademark protection and preventing from counterfeiting, and
environmental protection, etc.
In 2011, Mr. Peter Lo, acting as TSMA board director and the president of Johnson Health Tech.
also acting, made the initiative to establish Taiwan S-Team Elite League under the organization
of TSMA. He setup the ultimate mission of S-Team is to establish Taiwan as the global high-end
fitness manufacturing, research and development hub. Currently, Mr. Mark Chang, the president
of Healthstream Taiwan Inc. is appointed to lead the S-Team as the chair person. During his term of
office, his target is to enhance the marketing and quality image of S-Team, the major force in Taiwan’s
fitness equipment industry.
On the international arena, TSMA is an inaugural member of the World Federation of Sporting Goods
Industry (WFSGI) in the very beginning. WFSGI is a world authoritative body for the sporting goods
industry in Switzerland. The Honorary President of TSMA, Dr. George Wood, is now representing a
board director at WFSGI. Besides, TSMA is also a member of The Sports & Fitness Industry Association
(SFIA), the most authoritative sports & fitness association in the U.S.A. SFIA is a trusted body and a
pool of global brands, suppliers, retailers and partners home and abroad. TSMA continues playing
an active role on these international platforms by attending the annual meetings or promote sports
events.
