111 Taiwan Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association Industry 4.0 – Revolution of Intelligent Machinery & IoT Chien-Nan Wang, Assistant Director General Yun-Long Ma, Officer Department of Economic Research Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Industry 4.0 (Industrie 4.0 in Germany) was first introduced in the opening ceremony of Hanover Messe 2011, Angela Merkel announced that Germany would enter the era of Industry 4.0. Right after, Bosch made a final proposal of Industry 4.0 on April 8th, 2013 to the German government, and Industry 4.0 officially entered the world. Industry 4.0 refers to the fourth industrial revolution led by the intelligent manufacturing. Every nation calls it differently. Like the U.S.A., it is called Re-Industrialization or Industrial Internet. Japan called it Industrial Intelligence. China planned its project called Made in China 2025. Taiwan proposed Productivity 4.0 and similar development of the strategic industries on Intelligent Machinery and IoT planned by the new government of President Ing-wen Tsai. All terms have the same meaning. The first industrial revolution (Industry 1.0) mainly use water and steam power to carry out mechanic production. The second industrial revolution (Industry 2.0) used electricity to conduct massive and assembly-lined production.
