In recent years, the rising wave of fitness and exercise among

the public has not only led to an overall awareness of the benefits

of athletics but has also fostered the development of the sporting

industry. In fact, as the sporting and leisure industries develop into

mainstream industries, the industrial value they represent cannot

be ignored. Since Taiwan’s sporting goods industry has focused

on manufacturing outdoor products, fitness equipment, and top-

notch sporting goods, establishing excellent brand images can

help enhance its international reputation and promote business

opportunities for foreign buyers to procure Taiwanese sporting

goods.

In 2015, the global economy entered a period of low growth

called the “new mediocre.” In order to upgrade and transform

Taiwan’s industries, the MOEA will coordinate in promoting the

president’s campaign pledge of creating core values of “innovation,

employment, and equitable distribution,” thereby giving impetus to

Taiwan’s new economic model for transformation and sustainable

development by focusing on the development of the “5 + 2”

innovative industries, which includes: the building of an Asian Silicon
