69 Taiwan Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association Tobacco usage, lack of doing sports, harmful use of alcohol, healthy eating and drinking have increased the risk of non-communicable deaths for sure. As indicated, tobacco causes 7.2 millions of deaths every year, including those deaths caused by the second hand smoking. And also in the coming several years, the deaths as calculated will go up remarkably. Every year about 4.1 millions of deaths are attributed to the over intake of salt and Natri- um. And in 3.3 millions of deaths attributed to harmful alcohol drinking every year, more than half of these deaths are non-communicable diseases includ- ing cancer. About 1.6 millions of deaths are caused by the shortage of doing sports. The pathogenic and lethal factors of non-communicable diseases plus the spreading infectious epidemics as well as the low immune system of the public turn to be high blood pressure, high blood sugar and high blood cholesterol with abnormal physiological figures and three kinds of unhealthy behaviors: smoking, no sports and obesity. Only regular continuous physical activities is the beneficial and protective measure to prevent and to cure non-communicable diseases (NCD) such as heart diseases, strokes, diabetes, mammary cancer and colorectal cancer. Doing sports can effectively reduce the pathogenic risks and complications. In the other aspects, regular exercise can help to reduce the risks or impacts of getting high blood pressure, overweight and obesity. Besides, sports can better the mental health to delay the happening of dementia. It will also im- prove the living quality and well beings. B.Exercise is Medicine, EIM Accordingly, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) in 2007 initiated the campaign, Exercise is Medicine (EIM). Until now, in fifteen re- gions around the world, there are thirty countries where call for the sportive lifestyle.
