60 2019 Yearbook New Visions of the Sports Service Industry for the Middle-aged and Elderly People - taking references of the Sports Therapy Project in Singapore Mr. Hsu, Yu-Jen / Industrial Analyst Industry, Science and Technology International Strategy Center Industrial Technology Research Institute In April of 2018, Taiwan has officially become an aged society, in other words, the population in Taiwan over sixty five years old has reached 14 percent of the total population. In corresponding to the global ageing waves, the World Health Organization (WHO) has called for more awareness of active ageing. And this movement has been gradually promoted in many countries around the world. The governments have to face the ageing population; they apply the sportive and active approaches to find out solutions and overcome the relevant challenges. Apparently Taiwan is not exceptional. The independence capability for the middle-aged and the elderly people is to deal with the daily activities without difficulties. And this is a basic to build and maintain an active ageing lifestyle. The only way to put off the ageing phenomenon and to keep muscular strength is to do sports. The benefits of doing sports is to strengthen the physical conditions, enhance the ability of good mem- ory, improve sleeping quality, lift self-confidence and immune system, and so on. In the meantime, it also can reduce the chances of getting cardiovascular diseases and certain types of cancers. In the long run,
