WFSGI Mrs. Emma Zwiebler WFSGI CEO wfsgi.org Reflecting on a turbulent 2025, the positive power of the sporting goods industry, and the need to work together to empower health and economic productivity by making sports and physical activity affordable and accessible to all, is more evident than ever. Over the past year, the sporting goods industry has faced economic volatility, geopolitical tensions, a move away from multilateralism, and evolving consumer behaviour presenting both opportunities and challenges. However, facing this uncertain trading environment has encouraged us to double down on collaboration and teamwork across our industry, especially in the areas of public affairs and advocacy. In 2025, the WFSGI convened its first Public Affairs and Advocacy Summit in Washington D.C. bringing member companies and national and regional trade associations together to begin work on building a global industry narrative and a mapping of priority stakeholders and bodies for WFSGI to engage with to help position our industry for future growth and success, despite the economic headwinds. As the industry that moves the world, we know we have a unique value proposition for societies and economies around the globe.
