44 2024 TSMA The Profile Established in 1972, TSMA is the most representative organization for Taiwan’s sporting goods industry, including 300 domestic sports enterprises. We are connecting the local sports industry, the Government, international sports organizations e.g. WFSGI or SFIA, other sports trade shows organizers with the members. For more than half a century, we have helped members to explore markets at sports trade shows; we also provide timely topics, global sports trends by publishing Sports Impact (a quarterly magazine) or TSMA 2024 a sourcing directory for international buyers. Besides, TSMA provide annual export values of Taiwan’s sports industry by sports categories or by country. During and after the COVID-19, we have assisted our members to be informed about the subsidy or digital innovation resources. The sports technology is one of the main trends which we shall catch up. The relent insight, seminars or articles are often provided to all members. Under TSMA, Taiwan’s S-Team Elite League is another important development. It is a fitness alliance initiated in 2011 by Mr. Peter Lo, the founder and CEO of Johnson Health Tech. Co., LTD. The major mission is to promote lean production and management within the leading local fitness companies. The executives meet together to share experiences and also their observations at overseas learning tours. The road map is to increase high-end R&D and manufacturing strength in the global fitness markets. On the global stage, TSMA is an inaugural member of the World Federation of Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI). It is the world authoritative body for the sports industry officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the industry representative within the Olympic Family. Our chief representative, Dr. George Wood, also TSMA Honorary President, regularly takes part in its annual meetings as board director to raise voices for Taiwan’s sports industry. TSMA is also a member of the Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA), the most authoritative sports & fitness association in the U.S. It is a trusted body and a pool of global brands, suppliers, retailers and partners home and abroad. TSMA continues playing an active role on these international platforms by attending the annual meetings or promote sports events.
