2021 TSMA
26 2021 Taiwan Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association trade missions, and inviting foreign buyers to visit Taiwan for procurement opportunities. Fur- thermore, the BOFT integrates public and private resources to jointly advance trade through various trade promotion programs. As the pandemic forced countries to adopt border restric- tions this year, as well as cancel or postpone physical events, businesses have been seriously af- fected. Therefore, the BOFT has assisted associations with digital transformation and marketing. For example, when the 2020 FIBO exhibition in Germany was substituted by the FIBO@business digital exhibition, the BOFT helped local associations design a webpage as a Taiwanese image portal to attract foreign buyers. The BOFT also subsidized associations to participate in the 2020 World Federation of Sporting Goods Industry’s videoconference, while undertaking other meas- ures to overcome pandemic restrictions and continue to vie for overseas orders. Meanwhile, the BOFT has also offered export insurance benefits and export loan subsidies to reduce the burden of business capital costs. It also continues to engage in talks with our trading partners to nego- tiate favorable trading environments for our industries. The TSMA annually publishes this Sporting Goods Yearbook to help member companies pro- mote trade in the industry. It contains background details of each company along with informa- tion about their products and services. This rich source of information collates well-known Tai- wanese brands into an easily accessible format that has been referred to as the Taiwan Sporting Goods Encyclopedia. I am confident that this compilation will create many opportunities for our businesses and help market Taiwan-made goods around the world .
