25 Ms. Cynthia Kiang Director General Bureau of Foreign Trade As fitness has become the mainstream of sporting activities among the people of Taiwan, individual fitness activities like yoga and jogging are in- creasingly popular. Consequently, this has driven sales of related sporting goods. In addition, the severe impact of COVID-19 has spurred more people to ride bicycles or exercise at home. Thanks to the high-quality brand imag- es of sporting goods “Made in Taiwan,” which are deeply-rooted internation- ally, procurement opportunities for foreign buyers have prevailed despite the spread of the pandemic. The Taiwan Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (TSMA) upholds its mission of service and industry promotion by actively taking on its role as a bridge between the government and industry. It regularly holds seminars, organizing exhibition delegations and trade missions. During this pandem- ic, it has continued to organize activities as well as assist members with their digital transformation. Recognition for such outstanding results from this work is readily deserved.
