40 2020 Taiwan Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association About TSMA Taiwan Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (TSMA), established by 16 Taiwanese sports rack- et manufacturers in 1972, mainly acts as a platform among the domestic sports industry, the govern- ment as well as the international sports organizations or institutes like WFSGI or SFIA, etc. The major activity for TSMA is to participate in several global sports or health related trade shows to promote Taiwanese export. And to provide members with the sports trade news or market trends via various channels or update the global sports development, to release annual export value of Taiwan’s various sports products, to publicize government policies and resources on intellectual property and trademark protection and preventing from counterfeiting, and environmental protection, etc. are all part of TSMA’s services. Under TSMA, an important fitness alliance called Taiwan S-Team Elite League was initiated in 2011 by Mr. Peter Lo, the president of Johnson Health Tech. And this team members are coming closer via ob- servations or overseas learning tours to share experiences. Now, Mr. Vince Wu, the CEO of Tonic Fitness Tech. Inc. is S-Team’s chairman. He aims to enhance the marketing and quality image and continue the high-end R&D and manufacturing strength in the global fitness markets. On the global stage, TSMA is an inaugural member of the World Federation of Sporting Goods In- dustry (WFSGI). It is the world authoritative body for the sports industry officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the industry representative within the Olympic Family. Our current chief representative, Dr. George Wood, is also the Honorary President of TSMA regularly takes part in its annual meetings as a WFSGI board director. In addition, TSMA is also a member of The Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA), the most authoritative sports & fitness association in the U.S.A. It is a trusted body and a pool of global brands, suppliers, retailers and partners home and abroad. TSMA continues playing an active role on these international platforms by attending the annual meetings or promote sports events.
