Every link and whole life cycle are in need of software, software system integrates data and optimization process to maintain competitiveness. When links and products increase, networking and globalization will get broader and more complex. Thus, the difficulty of optimization will increase. Upgrading software to overcome this complexity can become an international competitive advantage. Development of Industry 4.0 in the major countries Industry 4.0 set off the wave worldwide. Every nation strives for the leading position of its manufacturing industry and solves the urgent problems like labor shortage, environmental protection as well as limited resources. Therefore, considering one’s own advantages and disadvantages, each country has its unique upgrading strategy of Industry 4.0. Due to the diverse developing environment in every country, there are different levels and strength of manufacturing. Most countries upgrade toward Industry 4.0 from the current position, first consolidate existing advantages, and then open the leading distance. (See List 1). List 1. Manufacturing development and the Industry 4.0 promoting strategies in major countries Brief on the industrial development Strategy as well as the development in the private sector Government policies Germany • Germany keeps on fighting against the trend of“de-industrialization” so as to maintain its important industrial position in the world. • In recent years, the complexity of product and system continues growing, and there is increasing threat that the U.S.A. enters the global real economy, Germany thus takes the initiative to promote Industry 4.0. • “Industry 4.0”of Germany is based on its technological advantages in manufacturing together with internet technology and intelligent manufacturing to innovate new production organization and business model. • Industry 4.0 strategy is widely recognized and supported by academics and industries in Germany. • The German government places“Industry 4.0” into High-Tech Strategy 2020 as one of the 10 major projects and invest 200 million Euros. Together with highly coordinated private enterprises, the government is expected to put into increasing resources in the future.
