They can be active users and consumers of the related services and create immense business opportunities in an ageing society. To develop the business of the silver industry From 1946 to 1964, the baby-boom generation has become the ageing or aged population. This generation has a solid economic base and healthy body. They have higher standard of old-aged living, health care, leisure or entertaining activities. They are an important consumption group with great potential. Meanwhile, they can also bring up unlimited business opportunities to develop the silver industry. In 2025, one in every five people is 65 years old in Taiwan. Taiwan will be an officially super aged society. Ageing population soon becomes the main consumption force. As estimated by the Industrial Technology and Research Institute, Taiwan’s silver industry will reach 3.6 trillion Taiwan dollars. Health food, medical care and life nourishing community are the major industrial development. Regarding to related life nourishing and care industry in the silver industry, as the Industrial Development Bureau estimates, the relevant investment value in the recent years will be 3,500 billion dollars. Thus, Taiwan does have the medical and technological advantages. It is recommended that the entrepreneurs could develop the domestic silver economy, and in the meantime, expand the new markets.
