An ageing society makes negative impacts upon labor force and causes its declination. However, taking references what the advanced European and American countries practice, if the highly-experienced, highly-skilled, professional senior labors can be well managed, they could be an important working capital for the national industrial development. In addition, in order to lift the living and working quality of increasing ageing population. In the future, the supply to the Elderly LOHAS, that is, the demands of silver products and services, will keep expanding. The government can promote relevant industrial policies to assist the ageing population to be productive. Their physical and mental health could be maintained. Promisingly, the challenges created by the ageing population will be changed to the opportunities of industrial integration. Definition and categories of the Silver Industry In the future, the ageing population will become the majority of a nation’s population. Thus, the business modes and consumption types will change accordingly. In face of the upcoming super aged societies, the new silver-haired market will show up. Focus on different levels of market demands, the derivative services and products are called silver-haired or silver industry. The ageing population can be divided into three levels: health, sub-health, and patient. In this case, for the health or sub-health silver-haired groups, the products and services related to food, clothes, housing, transportation, education entertainment and health are called “silver-haired multiple care industry”. For the sub-health elderly who have less physical strength or the middle-aged or aged patients, the major medical care service is called “medical care industry”. On the whole, the essential silver industry is to emphasize more human-designed and technological. Therefore, it can be divided into two parts: software and hardware. In other words, the software part is consisted of concrete operation modes and content of professional services; the hardware part is to improve the environment and equipment with better service quality, and safe and easy-to-use auxiliary equipment and devices. As to the demands of the active ageing population such as the health-nourishing food, and the leisure activities which are able to enhance physical and mental health, these are covered in the silver industry (see Diagram 7).
