TSMA Yearbook 2018
44 2018 Yearbook The ten set up companies, who made this project happen (including two bicycle manufacturers and one leading retailer organization), for which the WFSGI is extremely grateful, are in alphabetic order: Asics, BMC, Canyon, Columbia Sportswear Company, IIC-Intersport International, New Balance, Nike, the Pentland Group, Under Armour and the VF Corporation. These financial contributions and also considerable investments in time, human resources at set up company level by involving the in-house technical labeling experts in the contract negotiations defining the technical specifications and requirements of the database plus ongoing administrative services provided by the WFSGI itself led to the fact that the labeling database will now be co-owned by C&R and the WFSGI (hereinafter “the Database”) and that exclusivity status has been granted to the WFSGI in the global sporting goods, footwear and apparel sector. C&R projects a timeframe of approximately nine months starting from September/October 2017 until the Database will become operational, which means that it should be readily by July 1, 2018 as the project now (i.e. in early September 2017, when this article was written) stands. A special CLR steering committee has been formed consisting of technical and other experts of the ten set up companies and WFSGI representatives including myself to ensure that the specific industry needs are adequately met including various test phases of the Database during its development stage. 3.Contents, Scope and Objectives of the Database If you are a manufacturer, exporter or seller of sporting goods, you first want to know of course, whether the items you are producing or selling will be covered by the Database.
